In 1998, KARAMAH co-sponsored the second Religion and the Law
Conference at Fordham Law School, entitled "The Relevance
of Religion to a Lawyer’s Work." Other co-sponsors
included the Jewish Theological Seminary and Union Theological
Seminary. Several volunteers from KARAMAH’s MuslimJD
List participated in the conference. The proceedings have
been published in the FORDHAM LAW REVIEW.
The MuslimJD List was a KARAMAH-generated e-mail list of
Muslim lawyers (male and female) that developed into
The National Association of Muslim Lawyers (NAML). (See item
2 in these archives.)
The first conference was held in June 1997, and featured
several Muslim speakers, including Professor Azizah al-Hibri
of KARAMAH.
