KARAMAH Iftaar Dinner
Ramadhan 29, 1423

STATEMENT BY MS. FAIZA F. EL-HIBRI

Welcome honored guests and friends to this first KARAMAH Iftaar dinner. I would like to read to you a translation of the meanings of the Noble Qur’an, from SURAT IBRAHIM (Chap. 14: verse 24-25).

This selection reflects the Spirit of Ramadhan. It also tells us how all people, regardless of their differences, should treat each other:

"Bismillah al-rahman al-raheem"
In the name of God the All-Compassionate, the All-Merciful,

Do you not see how God has set forth a parable?
A goodly Word is like a goodly tree,
Whose roots are firmly fixed ,
And its branches [reach] to the heavens

It brings forth its fruit at all times
By the leave of its Lord.
Thus God sets forth parables for people
So that they may remember.
