On Saturday, February 6, 2010, KARAMAH hosted a discussion on women and Islam at a peace conference in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The conference, called A Struggle for Peace, was organized by DUNSA-Utrecht (Dutch United Nations Student Association), a student association focusing on international relations, human rights and development, and it featured a variety of lectures, debates and workshops led by prominent professors, activists and leaders from around the world. Sarah Islam, Program Officer for KARAMAH, led a reading on Islam, women’s rights and sustainable development.
