In 1998, KARAMAH cosponsored the second Religion and the Law
Conference at Fordham Law School, entitled "The Relevance
of Religion to a Lawyer’s Work." Other cosponsors
included the Jewish Theological Seminary and Union Theological
Seminary. Several volunteers from KARAMAH’s MuslimJD
List participated in the conference. The proceedings have
been published in the FORDHAM LAW REVIEW.
The MuslimJD List is a KARAMAH generated e-mail list of Muslim
lawyers (male and female) that developed later into The National
Association of Muslim Lawyers (NAML). See item 2 in these
archives.
The first conference was held in June, 1997, and featured
several Muslim speakers, including Professor Azizah al-Hibri
of KARAMAH.
